I bought this knowing that there are no explicit descriptions of sex, individual and multiple partners, gay and straight. I’m not a prude. I had not read Vampire Chronicles. But I was surprised when the book began with The Sleeping Beauty awakens raped. I leafed through the rest of the book and found this scene after scene girl, abused and humiliated. Do not bother with the other two sets. Even among the S & M couples, usually a degree of care. This material is just sick and very dangerous in its depiction of violence against women. What I can say? Mere words can not describe how I feel about this “literary” works of Anne Rice. I had no idea what it was when I ordered these books. I figured it would be very different. Erotica? I’ve never read it before, nor will I ever again. But let me say that these books are the most you can get the erotic as you. No wonder that Anne Rice wrote this under a pseudonym. These books are frightening. There is nothing sensual or erotic stories. These books are based on humiliation and degradation of man. From the moment I opened the first book of the trilogy, I was horrified. I think the expression on my face must have been one of pure terror. It took all my willpower not to take these pieces and thrown through space and then the light of the words of contempt to the fire. Rice brings us to our fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty beloved of her long sleep by a strong and handsome prince, beauty awakened began more than a simple kiss. It is then stripped of their dignity (and clothes) and subject to the whims of his perverse pleasures beloved prince.
